Horseback Adventurer Speaker Facilitator Guide

Walking a line between people and nature

Hi there!

Thanks for stopping by. I’m Clare and I’m an adventurer, environmental facilitator and guide. My passion is creating ways to help people connect with nature and wild places.

Many of my adventures are in the Lake District with my horse Merry and dogs Moose and Oates.

In May 2018 I spent a month riding around the Lake District and wild camping in the fells. It was an adventure of a lifetime. You can watch my BBC video "One woman, her pony and her dog".

In May 2022 I rode out on a different route around the Lakes with my welsh cob Merry but this time with a purpose. I went out to meet pioneering regenerative farmers who are working with nature. As well as producing food they are creating habitats for nature to thrive on their land. I wanted to find out more about what they are doing and what impact their actions are having on the wildlife in this precious landscape I call home. We made a 40 minute documentary film about the journey called Thriving which you can watch here. The film was made with Land and Sky Media and launched at Kendal Mountain Festival.

I hope you can come along for the ride!

"Clares' enthusiasm for adventure, especially if it involves horses, is uplifting and infectious - not to be missed."

Steve Scott, Kendal Mountain Festival

“Clare shared her lovely story with honesty, humility and humour”
